Steve Deaton

Steve grew up in Southern Pines, N.C., moved to Raleigh in 1975 and graduated from N.C. State University in 1979.
In 1981, Steve founded Deaton Investment Real Estate, Inc. (formerly Deaton & Associates) to focus on the brokerage of multi-family property. Steve mowed grass 30 hours a week while working 40 hours a week in real estate for the first two years of his career to pay rent and buy crunchy peanut butter.
Steve’s many years of experience through multiple real estate cycles and his involvement in over 3,000 real estate transactions give him an in-depth and objective understanding of the financial benefits of investment real estate.
Steve remains active in operating and managing GREA’s Raleigh office and spends free time traveling and giving to local “basic needs” charities, serving as a member of the N.C. State University Foundation Board and the Advisory Board of the Wolfpack Investor Network. Steve lives in Raleigh with his wife and has two adult sons.
